To preserve the wisdom and narratives of the SLO community through memoir services of the highest quality.

Our Name

The name Luther Chicopee continues the legacy of the Chapin heritage. In 1635, Deacon Samuel Chapin landed on the rocky coast of Massachusetts, and founded the city of Springfield. Years later, to preserve the family traditions and values, many Chapins moved north from Springfield to found the town of Chicopee. Today, we carry this same vision, to preserve the family traditions and values of each client with our three guiding principles as our North Star.

  1. Relatable to a future audience – These books are meant to be held in the homes of families and friends for generations, and are designed to pass on the wisdom, character and spirit of the subject’s life in a timeless fashion.

• Historical

  2. Capture the historical zeitgeist of our subject’s life – These books will serve as historical documents held to a rigorous degree of accuracy. They must capture both the personal and societal perceptions of the various events and ideas prominent during the subject’s life.

• Educational

  3. Provide educational benefits to their readers – These books, with their narrow and personal distribution, should exist as specific educational material to carry the life lessons and traditions accumulated by the subject to their readers. These lessons should include advice, specific family traditions, personal philosophy, cautionary tales, and words of encouragement to guide future generations.
